Birdie
(This profile is in remembrance, rest in peace)
Meet Midge, aka Birdie, she was a devoted mother of three and a proud grandmother to eight wonderful grandchildren. When Birdie first found herself in prison, the inability to provide gifts for her family weighed heavily on her heart. Determined to stay connected and show her love, she turned to her creative talents. Birdie began knitting caps, socks, and scarves, but soon discovered a new passion for drawing.
Using her newfound artistic skills, Birdie started creating personalized coloring books, custom cards, and intricate paper dolls with handmade clothes for her children. These heartfelt creations became a cherished tradition, helping her feel closer to her family despite the distance. As her children grew up and had children of their own, Birdie continued this tradition for her grandchildren, ensuring that each generation received her lovingly crafted gifts.
Over time, Birdie transformed her artistic hobby into a small side business. The proceeds helped to fund her sweet tooth, keeping her and those closest to her well stocked with their favorite Little Debbie snacks.
Her coloring books, cards, and paper dolls have brought joy to many, serving as a constant reminder of her love and dedication to her family.
Unfortunately, Birdie's journey came to an end in June of 2024. She was granted compassionate release, and spent her final months with her family. They wish for her art to remain on the site, never forgotten. Rest in peace, Birdie.
