dangerous spring fey
A collaborative piece by ShroomSquirrelOriginals and Michael Lauderdale
"Dangerous Spring Fey" is a stunning collaboration piece emerging from the foundation of "Saturday Morning" by Mike Lauderdale, created for the Shroom Squirrel Originals collaboration project. The artwork brilliantly combines Lauderdale's use of color and movement with Squirrel's affinity for mythical creatures, resulting in a captivating portrayal of a fey being.
The image features a beautiful and ethereal fey with delicate, elongated ears and vibrant orange flowers adorning her hair. Her face is adorned with splashes and splotches of green, orange, and blue, giving it an experimental and dynamic look. These colors create a sense of movement and vitality, while the background, with its mix of yellow and green hues, complements the fey’s mystical appearance.
Squirrel's attention to detail is evident in the fey's expressive eyes and the graceful, organic forms that surround her. The drips and splatters of paint add a dynamic and whimsical touch, enhancing the overall fantasy theme of the piece.
What Squirrel had to say about the piece: "I wasn't sure how to tackle 'Saturday Morning' or where to go with the piece. In the end, I followed what Michael had done, and decided to experiment and see where it took me. While I didn’t have any happy accidents, it was still a learning experience, and I discovered more brushes in my art program that may have gone undiscovered were I not encouraged and inspired. That said, as I so often do, I decided to focus on the colors and fall back on my love of fantasy art. I'm still struggling to get the ears just right, but for now, this will have to do. I hope you like her.”
