Light And dark

A collaborative piece by ShroomSquirrelOriginals and Michael Lauderdale

"Light and Dark" is a collaboration piece featuring the texture and color provided by Mike Lauderdale’s “Post Flight”.  This piece features a serene, ethereal portrait of a woman with a mystical aura. Her delicate features, accentuated by a soft blush, sharply contrast with her luminous, golden-brown eyes, which are the focal point of the image. She peers directly at the viewer, inviting them to explore a mystical world with her, a hint of adventure awaiting those who dare.

Her long hair, a blend of rich, warm hues, flows around her face and shoulders, merging seamlessly with the surrounding abstract elements. The influence of "Post Flight" is evident not only in the dynamic brushstrokes and vibrant, earthy palette but also in the impactful texture that adds depth and complexity to the composition. The brushwork captures a sense of movement and energy, enhancing the connection between the subject and her environment.

The artist employs soft watercolor techniques with fluid brushstrokes and washes of color, creating a dreamlike quality. The blend of vibrant and muted tones adds to the overall feeling of enchantment and serenity. The interplay of light and shadow further enhances the depth and dimension of the piece.

What Squirrel said about the piece: "I've been messing about with art for as long as I can remember; it's a lifelong passion. It's an escape, something I do to relax, unwind, and express myself. I guess it boils down to a feeling of freedom. When my hand tremors started, and I transitioned from physical to digital art, I felt a severe 'disconnection' from my creations. It lasted longer than I'd care to admit. This piece, though, I like. I like most of the collaboration pieces with Mike—they're some of the first pieces that felt like 'me' again. They've helped me grow as an artist, and I've gotten much more comfortable with the new medium. I hope people enjoy the collection, even if my choice of names leaves something to be desired."
