I am never satisfied with myself.
Ok, never is a strong word. How about... I am never satisfied with myself for long. Yeah, that's better.
See, I am what some might refer to as a "Yes Man." As in, "Yes, I will paint the swoosh on your shoes for you. Yes, I will fashion you a life-sized tarantula model. Yes, I can replicate your daughter's high school logo on a medallion. Yes, I will listen to you for hours on end while your hormones are flipping out because you're in transition. Yes, I will make dinner. Yes, I will advise you on how to file that resolution despite the fact I'm busy trying to keep my player's party alive when they took on a Severe 16 at 14th level with one member already down...
Yes, yes, and yes.
My problem is I like doing stuff. I like helping out and no matter how cynical, selfish, and curmudgeonly I wanna be, I can't do it. What I WANT all of this to be though, is MORE.
I know, I'm not making sense. Stay with me. I get there.
No, what I mean by "more" is more meaningful to more people. I have this (probably egocentric) idea that the daily oddness and interactions intrinsic to this life might have some sort of value to others. I mean, if you're still reading this, it's proof I'm on to something, right?
OR! You could just be waiting for the meltdown. Well, the answer is no, I'm not suffering any burnt toast syndromes (probably). What I am up to is starting a podcast.
We’re hoping to have our first episode up in a few weeks. It’ll be on YouTube and, hopefully, Spotify and other places you can find podcasts. Our editor/producer/logo designer/art director/website updater is learning on the fly with this, and the curve is steep, your patience is appreciated.
Me and some of my trusty partners in time are going to discuss the really real of incarcerated life and hopefully shed some light on a dimly understood subject. We'll dispel myths, relate our experiences (the good, the bad, the funny, the sad), and generally detail life inside without all the stereotypical BS found in so many other media outlets.
We're all new at this and it'll likely take a few tries before we're in the running for any awards, but we'll get there and we hope you'll come along with us. The more, the merrier, right?
Right. ^_^
