A Unique Artistic Collaboration

Meet Squirrel, one half of the creative force behind Shroom Squirrel Originals, a collaborative project with Mike Lauderdale. Together, they create unique hybrid art pieces that blend her imaginative fantasy designs with his intricate abstract works.

Squirrel draws inspiration from the color, texture, mood, and emotion evoked by Mike's abstracts, often overlaying and blending them into her own pieces. Their collaboration bridges their individual styles, creating a dynamic fusion of fantasy and abstraction that captivates and inspires.

When asked about the project, she said, “Michael thrives on collaboration; it’s just who he is. In contrast, this is my first collaboration. With my dad being a professional illustrator, I always saw art as a solitary endeavor. This experience has reshaped my perspective, influencing not only how I create but also how I feel about my own work. It's been transformative. I’m grateful we did this project together.

I suffer from hand tremors, and when they started, I thought my days of drawing and painting were over. Thankfully, that's not the case with today's technology. I'm able to digitally create using layers and the frequently-used 'undo' feature. I'm glad I can still express myself.”

Through Shroom Squirrel Originals, they have built a unique artistic dialogue that speaks volumes about their innovative approach and dedication to their craft. Every piece is a testament to the transformative power of collaborative art.
